Ishana is an inspiring kidspreneur who is not just for her business savvy, but for her dedication to social entrepreneurship.
In 2018, 9-year-old Ishana visited hospital to meet her friend who is hospitalised, she understood that her friend was stressed and looked unhappy because of loneliness. The very next day ishana made a soft toy and gifted it to her friend as companion and made her happy . She was extremely delighted to see the big smile on her friend’s face and that’s when she decided that she could do more toys for the children who are hospitalised for long-term treatments. She started making more soft toys with her savings and started to distribute the same to the cancer affected kids at Government hospital.
This precious youngster spends most of her pocket money and spare time sewing together soft toys to bring smiles to faces who need it most in what she calls “Sewing Hope”.
Now she has launched her social venture Sewing Hope with mentorship and guidance from kidspreneur. She raises funds for her initiative by selling toys at various events , Corporate tie-ups , Drives and campaigns . For every purchase of a toy, a similar toy would be donated to a child on behalf of the donor.
Ishana’s early grassroots efforts are the beginnings of her nonprofit organization, Sewing Hope.Sewing Hope is working towards bringing smile on One Million hospitalised kids. Ishana has also pitched her social venture at KIDx Asia Grand Finale at Thailand in 2018 , receiving an investment grant along the way.
Ishana started with the desire to make change in the world, and she approached her goal with baby steps. Her social entrepreneurial story teaches everyone that anyone can make a difference in the world, and even the smallest effort can grow to impact others in a huge way. She has been featured in several TV shows, Print magazines and online platforms including YOURSTORY. Her goal is to make 1 Million children happy and smile.
